Second Place in #Digital-Haven's Beauty of Summer contest

THIS is what I was working on most of last week. It was a gift for a friend who likes horses, and I waited until they actually received it before uploading it here.

Details:
ArtRage 2.5
Time: about six hours/one week, jumping back and forth from Fire & Myth.

My first real landscape work, I guess - although I wasn't sure whether to categorise it as 'landscapes and scenery' or 'animals'. I'd been planning this one in my head for awhile, and started it about two weeks before it was due, so it worked out very nicely.

The ponies are Dartmoor ponies, on the moors in summer. I love those moors, and Hay Tor was my favourite part of it. I didn't put a Tor in (outpushing of granite on top of hills, amazing to climb on top of) simply because of the way it all worked out. There are quite a few little streams over the moors, one of the main ones is the River Dart.

Painting the ponies: they are NOT paintovers, but they are closely referenced. I would have you note that I had to change the light sources for most of them :D
I'm rather proud of them actually, especially the fur/hair texture the paints gave them, especially the foals :heart:
It is the first time I've actually painted horses (well... except for the unicorn in The Waterlily Secret)
