EDIT: Uploaded a proper scan. The difference is HUGE (at least held side by side, you may not notice :D ). For example, the camera lens warped the image to the point where she looked squarish rather than rectangular (overall outline) and her head was too large.

In fact, I think it's worth taking out of scraps :D


A quick charcoal sketch of Mother Gothel during Mother Knows Best (Reprise).

Charcoal is tricky for fine details. I really miss ArtRage. I am really scared of my DA inbox right now.

Also her head is too big and her hair not big enough :D On the other hand, overlaying the photo with the screenshot later, just to see, (I drew using my laptop screen as a reference), I was pleased with how accurate the rest was.

Thank you! Actually, it looks so much better in reall life - and especially once I FINALLY found my artist putty (found it, went 'awesome, I can risk charcoal' put it down and lost it completely until after I gave up and uploaded it!)

And yes. Gothel is brilliant.
