I was meant to be writing up a synopsis for my journal readings about sperm distribution (limitation vs competition) for species with external fertilisation, in the sea.

Instead I draw a naked mermaid.

I swear there is no connection. And I still have to do my homework.

Also! Reflecting sand! And I know the starfish is kinda cliche, but I needed something *right there*

And look! Sunrises are pretty but so very easy, and I didn't copout - instead I drew something different, a foggy grey day...

Likes The sand, the sea, the composition.
Her eyes.

Dislikes The shade of blue I used for her. Why? I hate that colour!
She isn't too marvellous.
...

torn on the tail... on the one hand it's practical-ish, sort of seal like, on the otherhand I passed up an opportunity for a dramatic and unrealistic looping fishtail

eh, go ahead and critique ;P

Very interesting how she blends into the waves, like she is truly part of them.

Love the detail in this! Amazing what you did. Even if you had reference, the pose is excellent!
