Time: dunno. Four hours maybe.
He's in the middle of giving orders, I think. Certainly talking to someone.
I had great fun with this one, messing around with metallics and stuff. I realised recently (while selling a ridiculous amount of posters at Wellington Armageddon) that my older style actually works quite well. It's not that I moved away from it, exactly, it's that I felt I wasn't pushing far enough, or making it detailed enough or something, and kept trying to experiment (which is fine, it meant I actually learnt how to do more graphic design-ish stuff). Well, sod that, I'm going back to playing with colour for fun.
But that hand... I have a habit of sketching someone out, then deciding I need a reference for a bit of them (such as the hand) and then having to search pages and pages of images trying to find a hand in the pose I already drew it in, at the right angle and everything. And then I have to figure out the shading from scratch, because of course the lighting is different, and essentially, it took far too long.
