Prismacolor pencils on black a4 paper
Four hours. Or six. I forget, but I wrote it down somewhere.

Touching the surface, watch the ripples... under or over?

Rather a major step, in my learning, this one. Some errors there, due to not being able to repair it once I had gone so far, and the changing of ideas as I drew.
The face is a mess, and there's a limit to how much you can fix pencil.

I am in love with her fins! And how the hair matches, with the liney ness to it and the colors, it really ties everything together. Her breasts seem very un-even, though the outter one is supposed to be bigger...but it looks too big.

Don't give up on that face. You're definitely not at the limit of what you can do with a pencil, and the piece is too lovely to wash your hands of! I love the color choices and the general flow of the piece.

Oh, I definitely have to give up on this face because the paper won't take any more edits :D

the colors are so beautiful, especially in the hair. the hair is amazing. I don't think the face looks too bad. I doubt I would have noticed anything wrong with it had you not pointed it out. =D your colors and shading are wonderful, so :+favlove: ^_^

the water pattern is reallly cool, but shes a bit... odd, like the end of her tail is not too right shouldnt it be a bit more oppaque? and the bubbles are a bit strange, and like. breasts. her hair is pretty cool, but maybe shouldve stopped before crossing over her tail. i like the smooth flow from human to fish :D

(lol sorry, you got us used to high standards!)
